CID to grill Raju for 2nd day; SEBI to wait longer

Satyam’s former chief Ramalinga Raju has spent his first two days in CID custody and police sources told NDTV that it hasn’t been able to get much out of him.

Raju was taken out of Chanchalguda jail around noon on Sunday to the CID office, where he will be till 10 am on Thursday.

On Sunday, Raju was questioned for two hours. His lawyer says he was running fever.

On Monday, a doctor checked Raju’s condition. Raju has reportedly been eating only fruits.

Raju’s lawyer says the atmosphere in jail has not suited him which is why he asked for special status inside prison. This means - a cot, mattress, pillow, coffee instead of tea, non-veg curry and fruits everyday apart from dal-rice, a cupboard to keep clothes, more newspapers and a western commode.

The order on the special status petition along SEBI’s petition to question the former Satyam chief will be pronounced on Thursday as will hearing on Raju’s bail petition.
