Satyam employees have set themselves a deadline, January 31, whether to stay with the IT major or switch jobs. Incidentally, the date also coincides with many multinational corporations (MNCs) unveiling their new projects and recruitment drives for the next fiscal.
Though partly convinced that they might get their January salaries with the aid of returnables which, are due and the Union government taking keen interest in reinstating the lost hope of the company, many Satyamites are still considering the option of quitting the company.
At their calculative best, lining up opportunities in other companies though at much lower pay scales, the Satyamites have decided not to be defeated in the bargain.
“By January 31, we will know whether we will get our salaries and also have a clearer vision about what the future beholds. It will be time to decide whether we need to move out or not. It is not as if we have nowhere to go,” a Satyamite said. Many employees have adopted the wait-and-watch policy for the time being, but might decide on the developments till January 31.
Employees who have two years of experience might have a chance of getting a similar salary package. “Some employees have few offers in their pockets already and are waiting for the right time to leave. There are others who are optimistic about offers which will come up with recruitment season of MNCs,” a Satyamite said.
